This 2 storey extension located in Whiteley near Fareham was completed in May 2013
This extension was built from start to finish by us. The job entailed building up a shell on the ground floor on the back and also building a shell on top of the garage on the side. This involved removing the roof of the garage and installing steel beams to carry the 2 skins for both the front and back wall. In total 9 beams were installed which was no easy task. Installing these allowed us to remove the walls across the entire rear of the building, allow us to remove a dividing wall between there existing dining room and kitchen, hold up the 2 storey part of the extension on the side and one spanned across their aluminium doors to support the roof. The steel across the doors was our suggestion as in our opinion these offer more strength than a cavity lintel and costs less.
The rooms created was a massive dining, entertaining and kitchen area. A bigger utility room to allow for a place to lay for their dogs, an under cupboard space and an additional bedroom.
The standard of finish was high. We fitted LED lighting inside and out, installed designer vertical radiators, black aluminium bi-fold doors, 4 velux windows (2 of which electric open and close with rain sensor) higher end howdens kitchen with pop up socket and Bamboo hardwood flooring to name a few features that were added to our usual high standard of work.
